Nate Yoho is coach and owner of CrossFit Merle Hay. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Health and Sport Studies and a concentration in Economics and Art. Nate was a 4-year starting outfielder at the University of Iowa before he went on to play in the Milwaukee Brewers minor league system. After his baseball career ended Nate set his sights on helping others as a personal trainer. Nate has been a personal trainer since 2007 and holds a certification with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Nate has worked with many types of clients ranging from heavy metal singers, other personal trainers, collegiate and high school athletes, doctors, teachers, and media producers to name a few. Six of Nate’s clients have gone on to become either personal trainers or have gone on to have careers in the fitness industry. He has been involved in CrossFit since 2012 and participated on the team that took 1st in the North Central Open and 3rd at the North Central Regionals in 2013.
Nate enjoys spending time with his daughter Caralyn and their two cats Oliver (kitty) and Lou.
Michelle is a CrossFit Level One Trainer and coach at CrossFit Merle Hay. She began work as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor in 2010, where her passion for people and fitness meshed perfectly together. Michelle has worked with clients of various athletic abilities and physical limitations and loves seeing people accomplish things through CrossFit that they never thought possible. She is an avid MMA fan who was introduced to CrossFit at the UFC Fan Expo in Houston, TX in 2011 where a CrossFit competition was being held at the Expo. Her career in the sport of fitness began upon her return home. Michelle had the opportunity to compete at North Central Regionals on a team in 2012 and has enjoyed competing in other midwestern and local competitions.
Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and is actively involved with the student ministry at her church.
